Todos somos Inmigrantes

We’re back! And this time, The Immigrant Story (TIS) will be joining Sunday Parkways in Outer Northeast Portland on August 19.

Interested in getting some exercise in the warm sunshine? Helping foster a sense of civic pride?

We invite you to join us for an event to draw attention to issues faced by Latino immigrants in the current political climate.

In support of “WALK with Refugees and Immigrants” events organized by Parks for New Portlanders and in partnership with Portland Sunday Parkways, TIS we will be located at Knott City Park on Northeast 117th Avenue and Northeast Brazee Street on August 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We invite you to talk with Latinos who have shared their incredible journey to be here. They are DREAMers, asylees and immigrants. To hear their stories is to understand the underlying emotions of this community.

Drop by our tent and show your support.

Hear their voices, listen to their stories and talk to them. This is an opportunity to meet and greet us. Bring your family. We’d love to see you there!

The Sunday Parkways route  takes you through Outer Northeast with new attractions and new parks/marketplaces.

We will be greeting you all at Knott City Park! Stop by and join the conversation.

The Immigrant Story is proud to be a platform for all underrepresented immigrant voices in our community. Our hope is that this project will provide an opportunity for visitors to explore the emotions of this particular community, which continues to bear the brunt of hate speech in the United States.

The Immigrant Story believes that by sharing our stories, we can enhance empathy and thereby contribute to the creation of a shared community and a greater humanity.

When you help us share these powerful stories, you help change the narrative in today’s America.
