Dijana Ihas:

This is the photo of my viola that my parents bought for me when I was 14 years young. I carried this instrument first, for 7 hours  through the mountains covered in snow when we had to escape from Serbian attack on my home (April 17, 1991). Then I played on this instrument, as a viola player of Sarajevo String Quartet, playing 206 concerts in Sarajevo when it was under siege (June 1991-May 1996), and then I completed an MFA in viola performance, also on this instrument after I brought it with me as a war refugee to the U.S. (August, 1997.).
