Baby Clothes, Damascus, Syria

Rama Youssef:

When I was 12 years old and getting ready to move to America, I made sure to bring this jumper with me. All my older sisters wore it  as babies, including myself, so we playfully competed for who would end up taking the jumper for their future kids. I still hold onto it at 21 years old, because I want my future kids to wear it, and it serves as a physical reminder of my sisters and my childhood in Syria.

  1. This post is both heartbreaking & hopeful. Your future babies will wear something from home.
