My Father was orthodox. Most orthodox men used the Teffilin for morning prayers. Teffilin is made of leather straps, which are wrapped around the user’s arm, connected to a small leather box with prayer scrolls inside.
My Father used this every single morning, and to this day I vividly remember his prayer sessions.
After we returned from Budapest Ghetto on January 18th 1945 to our apartment, which had been ransacked, this was one of the precious items that remained. It is a piece of our family’s history.
